Steak Tips

A simple base recipe for steak tips. Great to add to beef recipes. Apologies for the vagueness, but really everything is to taste.  Can’t settle on the measurements.  I really don’t think you can mess this one up.  Use spices that fit into the recipe you’re making.  Enjoy!

Steak Tips

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1 cup cold water
  • steak sauce
  • worcestershire
Beef Broth
  • 2 c water
  • 2 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
Seasons to Taste
  • paprika
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • garlic
  • Onion
  • corriander
  • sugar
  • dill
  • rosemary
  • thyme
  • mustard
  • red pepper
Instructions
  1. Mix gluten and any seasons you desire. Add some steak sauce and Worcestershire to your water and mix together.
  2. Knead dough for about 5 minutes, let rest for another 5.
  3. In the meantime get your broth going to a boil in a large saucepan, adding enough water so you will cover most of your meat.
  4. Tear off small chunks of your loaf and toss into your simmering broth. Simmer for about 1 hour until it absorbs all the juices.
